About MAIN

MAIN is a research and knowledge exchange network which aims to bring together academics, healthcare and social care professionals, psychologists, allied health professionals, policy makers and people impacted by advanced illness, to share current research and practice on mental health and wellbeing linked with advanced illness.

We aim to:
  • Host webinars focused on mental health and wellbeing for people impacted by advanced progressive illness.
  • Identify and prioritise key areas for future research on psychological, psychosocial, and spiritual care for people impacted by an advanced or terminal illness.
  • Identify and share information on opportunities to become involved in research on mental health and wellbeing towards end-of-life.
  • To share research and promote knowledge exchange on mental health and wellbeing via social media and a digital platform.
  • Work with stakeholder organisations to identify policy levers for better mental health and wellbeing support for people impacted by advanced progressive illness.
